Shifting Shadows:
Live Performance

As audience members enter a dark room, they are handed a torch with poetic prompts attached to it. As they travel along the dark space, they shine their light upon the clothes and around the space. The torch allows them to create strobe light effects, circular patterns, and light the performer’s body to bring it into visibility. As light touches bodies, they come alive, entering shadow and staying back hidden in the darkness.
